اشتباهات رایج در انگلیسی: Confused words

به هنگام یادگیری یک زبان خارجی یکی از اشتباهات رایج به کار بردن یک واژه بجای یک واژه ی دیگر است که از جنبه هایی با هم شباهت دارند. برای مثال ممکن است شباهت ظاهری، معنایی یا تلفظی داشته باشند. در این بخش بر روی حروف اضافه تمرکز میکنیم و چند نمونه از رایج ترین حروف اضافه ای که به اشتباه بجای هم بکار میروند را ذکر میکنیم.

اشتباهات رایج در Prepositions

حروف اضافه ای که در ادامه آمده اند از نظر کاربرد کاملا متفاوت اند. توجه داشته باشید که آنها را بجای هم بکار نبرید.

• To and At: Always say “we come to school every morning” not “come at school”. Also, always say “someone is standing at the door” but never say “standing to the door”.
• To and Till: Always say “we walked to the river” but never “till the river”. Also, always say “I’ll stay here till next month” but never “to next month”.
• In and At: Always say “Jack has a flat in Paris” not “at Paris”. Also, “Mom is staying at 52 main street” not ” in 52 main street”
• In and Into: Always say “Jane spent all the day in her room” but not “into her room”. Also, “Richard came into the room” but not “came in the room”
• Between and Among: Always say “There was a fight between two boys”, but never “among two boys”. Also, “Divide the apple among you three” not “between you three”.
